EARLY VOTING BEGINS OCTOBER 15TH!
As a proud graduate of the Camden County School System in 1980 and a parent of two children who also attended Camden County schools, Sheriff Jim Proctor knows firsthand the importance of keeping our schools safe. Sheriff Proctor’s mission is clear: to ensure that every child, teacher, and staff member in Camden County can focus on education without fear for their safety. He has made school safety a top priority in his leadership and remains deeply committed to enhancing and protecting our school communities.
A Deputy Sheriff in Every School
Sheriff Proctor believes that the presence of dedicated law enforcement personnel in our schools is essential to maintaining a secure learning environment. That’s why he made a personal promise to Dr. Green, Camden County’s School Superintendent, that he will work tirelessly to place a Deputy Sheriff in each and every school across Camden County. The goal is to not only protect but to foster positive relationships between students, faculty, and law enforcement.
Expanding Active Shooter Training
School safety isn’t just about having deputies in place—it’s about ensuring that every officer is prepared for any situation. Sheriff Proctor’s plan includes incorporating more rigorous and frequent Active Shooter training for not only our School Resource Deputies, but for every Deputy Sheriff employed at the Camden County Sheriff’s Office. These comprehensive training sessions will equip deputies with the necessary skills to respond swiftly and effectively to any emergency.
Furthermore, Sheriff Proctor remains committed to fostering collaboration among law enforcement by extending invitations to surrounding agencies to participate in this vital training. Together, we will ensure that all officers, across all agencies, are prepared to respond to threats in any school.
Enhancing School Safety Plans
Sheriff Proctor understands that the safety of our students and staff relies on strong, well-coordinated safety plans. That’s why he is committed to working closely with the Camden County School System and surrounding agencies to enhance and strengthen these plans. By regularly updating and rigorously testing school safety procedures, we will ensure that every school in Camden County is equipped to prevent and respond to potential threats.
Taking Threats Seriously—Protecting Our Schools
Sheriff Proctor takes school safety very seriously. Any and all threats that come into our schools will be investigated to the utmost level of seriousness. Sheriff Proctor is committed to holding students accountable for their actions, while also ensuring that students who need mental health assistance receive the care they require. This balanced approach ensures that we address both the safety and well-being of our youth.
A Vision for Safe, Thriving Schools
As your Sheriff, Jim Proctor is dedicated to building a future where our schools remain safe havens for learning. His promise to you is that he will continue to make school safety a top priority, working closely with school officials, law enforcement agencies, and our community to ensure that Camden County schools are among the safest in the state.
On November 5, 2024, re-elect Sheriff Jim Proctor to ensure that our schools—and our children—are protected.
